  • Bhangra: Bhangra is a vigorous and rhythmic folk dance of the northern Indian state of Punjab. This dance form depicts the close relationship between humans and nature and often is about natural festivals, for example, harvesting, farming, and the arrival of spring.

  • Bollywood: This modern style dance form is rooted in the film dances from India and it includes a touch of classical, folk and western movements set to high-energy beats.
  • Ghumar: This is a royal folk dance from the palaces of Maharajas of Rajasthan, a princely state in India. This dance is performed during celebrations like Diwali, Teej, or Holi. In this dance, beautiful girls are exchanging views about their respective fiancées and the gifts they have given to them, bangles, necklace, and rings. Facial expressions and hand movements tell the story.
  • Kathak: This is a classical dance of India and the word Kathak means story telling. Originated in temples of North India the dance depicts a story of religion or a social event and is expressed by the hand, body movements, and delicate facial expressions. Then it is combined with pure dance, which includes intricate patterns and combinations of footwork. In the 18th century Kathak was a popular dance in the courts of Mughal kings, and thus influenced by the royal courts as well as harmonized by the lyrics of Muslim poets.
